Arabia Alliance Reads: Ron Daise And “Raptors In The Ricelands”

Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance proudly brings author, singer, actor, and educator Ron Daise as our first author in the new Arabia Mountain Reads book series! From 6-8pm on August 29, at Black Dot Cultural Center, Daise will give an interactive reading with the audience from his latest book Raptors in the Ricelands. Expect poetry, singing, a Q&A about Gullah Geechee culture, and a reception with fresh bites and beverages!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Ron Daise (pronounced DAYS), a son of St. Helena Island, SC, is an author, performing artist, educator, and cultural interpreter. His productions and recordings about Gullah Geechee culture and history have documented his heritage for decades. He is known by many as “Mr. Ron” from “Gullah Gullah Island,” the Nick Jr. TV’s award-winning children’s program of the 1990s.
